Line 5 Pilates Studios
"There is nothing like having someone come to us with specific goals or issues, committing to the work, letting us guide them with trust and as a result telling us that they are now pain free and able to do all the things they enjoy and more ..."
Wanderlust Weekly: Congrats on the growth of Line 5 Studios! What inspired its creation? Mylene Perrier: I came to Pilates, like many others, as the result of an injury. It was time for me to reconnect with my body and start moving again. I had a passion for movement and needed balance in my life so a friend introduced me to the technique, six months later I started teaching Pilates and never looked back. Line5 was created from a dream to bring together a group of inspiring teachers with diverse backgrounds to provide undivided attention to our clients and assist them in achieving their goals. I have always been sensitive to environments so it was important for me that the studio itself be open and welcoming with high ceilings and lots of natural light while maintaining an individual feel. The right people and the right space came to me at the right time and Line5 opened. To me the studio is an oasis where clients and teachers can challenge themselves in a safe and beautiful space.
Wanderlust Weekly: You've built a strong community following in Vancouver, what are some of your proudest moments? Mylene Perrier: Winning awards and getting recognition always tastes sweet however my proudest moments are related to my client’s journey. There is nothing like having someone come to us with specific goals or issues, committing to the work, letting us guide them with trust and as a result telling us that they are now pain free and able to do all the things they enjoy and more. As a teacher, to see the moments when the light bulb goes on is what I strive for. To watch someone connecting with their own self, physically, emotionally and sometimes spiritually, to be present when it happens is such an amazing experience. I am proud of my clients for having the courage to look inside and allowing us to take part in the process.
Wanderlust Weekly: The wellness field is constantly evolving, what upcoming news or developments can we look forward to? Mylene Perrier: Whether it's for injury prevention, healing from an existing injury, for fitness and balance or simply a lifestyle, at Line5 we are always excited about meeting new clients and see how we can help. We are looking forward to building strong relationships with other studios to grow the Pilates community globally and assist our travelling clients in continuing their Pilates practice when they are away from home. We are also planning to introduce the work we do at the studio by offering destination retreats in the near future. [ learn more ]
